I usually have about a year to a year and a half waiting list for puppies and young adults. I will do my best to help you find the right companion for you and direct you to other breeders if I feel they can better assist you.

Because I feel very strongly that the most important contribution any dog makes to his owners is the gift of his companionship and love, I do not differentiate in price between show and pet quality puppies. Ribbons are icing on the cake as far as I am concerned and you deserve the ribbons if you are willing to put the hard work into earning them with your dog. If you are interested in competing with your dog whether it be in agility, obedience, sledding, or in the show ring, please don't hesitate to ask for advice and help. If I cannot help you I will be glad to direct you to someone who can. Competing with your dog can be a fun way to spend the day and can strengthen the human-pet bond immensely.

All of my dogs are sold on non-breeding contracts, including show prospects. Although I can do my best to evaluate a puppy at eight/nine weeks and make decisions about what he/she will mature into, the future is still unpredictable and things can change. The non-breeding contract is liftable provided that certain requirements are met. These requirements include the appropriate health testing, involvement in a canine sport, etc. I do not believe in having puppies for the sake of having puppies and get to see far too many dogs through rescue whose owners thought having puppies would be fun. While I cannot say that puppies aren't a lot of fun, they are also a lot of work and can be very expensive. Most good breeders strive to break even - they don't make money (and most lose money). My contract states that ANY AKK MUST come back to me if for any reason you are no longer able to keep it. I strongly recommend spaying/neutering your pet if it is not your intention to meet the requirements to lift the non-breeding contract. This is healthier for the dog and easier for your household.

You will likely hear from me a minimum of once every 6 months for the rest of your dog's life. I like to be kept up to date with pictures and notes about your pet. All dogs are important, regardless of ribbons, awards, etc.

The current prices for AKK are:

$1500 USD (subject to change)

Answering my questionnaire does not guarantee you a puppy or a spot on my wait list. It is just a preliminary step in getting to know you better.
